Fresh Thinking

This winter Dynaflo hired two interns with no prior mechanical engineering experience, but a genuine interest in pursuing engineering curricula once they enter college.

Clearly not your average generation Y's, Catherine Reiter (Holy Name High School) and James Johnson (Twin Valley High School, Robeson Twp.) are both high school juniors at the top of their classes, exceptional athletes and world travelers.

Within the first few days at Dynaflo, James and Cait spent time in our production area building and testing pumps, and took part in a Q.A. corrective action exercise.

Over the course of the year both students will work in many areas of the business. They will help us with market research and competitive analysis, create flow charts and SOPs, and participate in product development and prototype testing. Both have indicated a stong desire to learn the Pro-E software that our engineers use to design our pumps.

Dynaflo currently has a number of pumps in various stages of development, from concept through to production, so Cait and James will be exposed to the design, prototyping and production phases of our process.

We are very excited to have James and Cait on board. We have found that most interns bring the fresh thinking and youthful enthusiasm that is a key component of any successful high-tech company, and both Cait and James seem eager to make their mark.

Welcome Cait and James!
